The Inside Of A Vergina

Anxieties and

Dear ones
to time I read a very interesting book by Varda Hasselmann (and Co) on fears archetypes of fear, and I was able to detect even very good. Very tricky: I did not realize that I have actually run in these areas of fear one thing, because so far I thought I was pretty strong and flexible. Well, that may be protective mechanisms, just can just as positive thinking to help ensure that I do not feel pain has, for example: "Hey, is on the bad indeed always something positive, well that my car is broken, because maybe I would have Otherwise an accident built .. in the worst traffic jam, was today ...".
Yes, maybe, but hey presto I have my huge anger repressed.
So everything is a tightrope walk.
And that's not only at such oberlfächlichen things like this, but also essential, in childhood experienced situations. We all have strengths acquired in bad times, which in itself is a good thing. For in every trauma there is a great strength. Important I think, I just experience it all over again, is to see that it could be that the underlying fear still plays a big role. And running. Kind regards Michelle

Zig Zag Blunt Wraps

Hiya :-)

I finally again time to talk about the past week:
Last Friday began my first weekend off so I could with a few other volunteers to Pietermaritzburg go to the mall to me as a rug to buy for my room because the floor by the constant rain in the rainy season is extremely disgusting.

Saturday I went with Robert and Bekki by minibus to Qualimba (a valley in the area) to migrate to the Table Mountain. Minibuses here are the main means of transportation for the dark-skinned. It is a mini bus stop, ask around, which bus goes to your destination and when you einsteigt then hopefully in the right bus, sit Black people in it, without exception. The bus departs once all the approximately 20 seats are filled, so there is no timetable. If it goes off, start all the people herauszukramen their money. The fare is announced not before, everybody knows by heart. Each then gives the money to the vehicle ahead and a short time later you get the change again, although nobody knows for how many people actually want to pay or who has given how much: do not know how that works. I also wondered total, that even here in South Africa does the trust fund and pocketed no money. For white women it will be very dangerous to drive minibuses, which is why we always Men need to take any.

With such a bus so we are driven to the Valley and when we realized that we got ourselves further and further away from the Table Mountain, from us and began to walk through the valley towards the mountain. The people there were totally loving, greeted us and we have used our mini-Zulukünste to greet them. Robert then asked any man for the shortest path and the latter told him that it would take 6 hours, from there to run out high. He then offered us, drive us up pretty up and we took the offer with thanks. Once there we had to only about a half hour hike up until we were able to enjoy the breathtaking views. We ran about 4 hours around the mountain to the underlying Valley view from all sides. Back then we were down 2 hours, until we drove up to a nice police officer to the site to GGA. On the way there were Bekki and I on the bed of the pick-ups and have the people waved: It was so nice to see how much they were happy about it. So far I have met only South Africans who are we Germans confronted very friendly and helpful. Yesterday I was talking with a girl who had been to Germany.
She said that she missed her very much, to be greeted by strangers, since everyone really any "Hey, how are you?" asks. I promised her that I try to also introduce this in Germany :-)
Back to my week: Sunday I drove with Bekki, Robert and David to Durban to the beach, now I am become beautiful brown :-) Monday was
the so-called "food drop" is announced. GGA then buys an important foods such as Putu, beans, sugar, salt, soap and soup for families in the surrounding valleys. After 3-hour delay, we went around 11:30 go for shopping. There, waiting for Heather, the founder of GGA on us and I could finally meet. She asked me if we do not even try out the camping chairs. I was confused and walked until I found out that they only wanted something to remain in their seats. That all other were waiting for us, she did not care in South Africa are more important than any social contact dates.
The shopping was not until 3:30, so we no longer came to distribute.
evening had Suziwe, the girl that has me a t-get-shirt, birthday and she was very bored: I played it for a while with her and later she asked me if I do not you could read you a bedtime story : This question I never expected from a 13-year-old girl. When I started read a children's story, another teenager came to and listened to, It has shown me that the young people who want affection. I got even kisses on the cheek in gratitude for the time taken.
Tuesday my body produced a lot of happiness, I must with the 3 - week trip through all the possible countries of southern Africa. Heather it offers every year and it was said to be the highlight of each voluntary year. There we will take turns sleeping in backpacker hostels and the open air, undertake activities such as sand surfing, rafting and bungee jumping (which I will not make deifinitiv) and hopefully a lot of wonderful continent Africa get to see.
The trip cost me 800 euros but although the great experience it is worth to me, the rest of the year a little less money at their disposal and where do you get for 3 weeks "Safari holiday" for 800 €?
;-) I'll make a lot of photos to make you something to leave to attend.
Wednesday then we distributed the purchased food. Again, it was totally nice to be able to admire the scenery on a 4-hour car ride and the people see that were pleased with the donation.
Friday started again a free weekend since the layers were changed again and I am unfortunately ended up in, this weekend was free :-)
sailed We returned to Pietermaritzburg in the mall and went to the movies there to show us the movie "Step Up 3" to view. It was difficult to understand the conversation because the film was shown in English, of course, but the majority I could understand.
At 21 clock it went to the hut of the Norwegians to celebrate a little bit there. All girls are using this opportunity to make up to something again and pretty to wear, since the GGA is in everyday life totally unnecessary.

Yesterday and today we all played just something with the children and tried them the boring weekend as comfortable how to make this possible. It's really a shame we can not take them because we have actually planned a hike with the older kids.

They are Crechies, to take care of myself, while bathing.

Why Do People Like Naruhina

The first half month is around ...

and I've finally done it again, to put me in front of the laptop, and my latest adventures.

My birthday was certainly different than usual, but it was still missing relatives and friends a very nice day: So the children learned that I Birthday, had she sang several times a day, a birthday song (of course in Zulu) for me. In the evening, then happens to the monthly birthday party held for children who are born in September. All children, all volunteers, the "Crew" and the Visitors came from England in Thetaergebäude together and then led everyone would get on stage.
German Typically as we are, we took care of until an hour before the party at our "performance" and therefore only a German birthday song, 99 Luftballons by Nena and Theo put the cart on to came out, probably after the African voices rather lamentably sounded for the encouragement But enough of the kids ;-)
The highlight was a performance of "Young Zulu Warriors" who have been around the world (in Germany) on tour. They danced and sang traditional Zulu to do so. It was time for me to see again impressive that seemingly everyone here possesses a great sense of rhythm.
If you eingebt the term on Youtube come when videos of them and you can perhaps better idea of what I speak.
After the party I brought the kids to bed and then we met us on the pool house, which is the home of the male volunteers, the camp fire.
Saturday the British really wanted a "Sports- Day "organized, but as is almost always here, no one knew really notice what is held when, the day so we more or less just" rumhangen.
Sunday was church again, this time not as huge as last week, but only for the children living here. The service was completely designed by the kids and run. Again much has been sung and held some very emotional preaching.
afternoon seized me then the spirit of sport: I went jogging with Eileen and the Eli.
Hellish 40 minutes in the hilly landscape made me remember how little sports I've done recently. The beautiful view in the Valleys, however, could motivate me well. plagued
On the following day of terrible sore muscles then resumed the normal school week. It came in four Norwegian women who do this for 10 weeks to analyze anything and besides the high schoolers to help with their homework. With them we spent the evening campfire.
Tuesday I was already on at 6:30 clock to go with Becky, Eli and Rike to Durban in the Pavilion shopping center. This is one of the biggest shopping centers all over the southern hemisphere and be in about 3.5 hours we have seen maybe 1 / 3 of the unterirrdisch-running building. Standing in the mall can not imagine that you are in Africa, since all glitter and very European or very modern is-to my delight, there is even a Subway (which is my favorite fast food restaurant) :-)
evening we played some UNO and then went again very soon to sleep. On Wednesday I went
again in the morning off to Durban: This time, accompanied by Steffi, the Caro and Rebecca went to Durban's beach.
sprint patients at 9 clock in the morning we then screaming into the Indian Ocean. Super clean water, a lot of surfers and palm trees were forgotten for me, the familiar North and Baltic Sea.
The current daily temperature is, moreover, about 30 degrees here, although we do not have winter.
Can you perhaps explain to me why here to see the moon with the opening up is? That is we noticed a few days ago and nobody has an explanation.
After exactly 2 weeks I now have almost all the names of the younger children and some adults. Someone asked me whether the name would not sound to me very strange. This is definitely so, because it not only "ridiculous" name, we are Nomfundo, Mandla, and Samkelo Nonjabulo, but also have some one of the three clicking sounds, which I can not imitate easily. When I am back in Germany, I'll show you how to pronounce or Nxolo Sicelo correctly. ;-)
Someone also asked what I would get here for dinner. As already mentioned, we get only the dinner. And that consists of alternating rice with either chicken Wappel, Putu (corn flour) with beans or fried chicken with Bohnenpampe.
Everything But this bean I actually quite like to eat, but it is not very varied, to eat every third day the same. Our staple food in the cottage (the name of our house) are chocolate, yogurt, toast and cereal, so I highly doubt that what is with the model figure for the year abroad :-)

had what I almost forgot: We have a new Roommate in our house. Her name is snake, and they will probably be quite toxic. It was the month on our "Terrace" about to eat a poisonous frog as well as the boys arrived and said "We are real Warior 'we will kill it !"... was a pity that the snake was able to escape despite a few strokes in a hole in our house and since then as now sits. It is comfortable in any direction and no one really knows whether she could come visit us sometimes through the toilet.
Since then I go without my flashlight going anywhere anymore, and at night I imagine, to feel all snakes.

The coming weekend I must work the way again, as we changed the layers. Now I am among other things, the three of them together in a layer, and just as crazy (in a positive sense) are childish as I am. Only the Rike is now in the opposite layer, so we have free weekends at different and thus not able to take short trips together.
To make the top 3 in the details can just imagine:
Caro: You ripped an ever forgiven without even a ***** why you do not notice it often.
Steffi: She is everything with "sh" and I fear that I carried her and the other "dialect-Haber" my beloved High German unlearn. She is just schokisüchtig like me.
Rebecca: She is my new-found twin sister (just as in "The twin girls" happened). The children outside us can not distinguish from each other and also of character we have already found quite a few similarities.

my true twin sister is in Hamburg and is waiting for me, and, in this millennium for me not to be topped (very nice greeting to my Tanni): -*

Now it has become already 10:30 and it is slow for me, bedtime.

Oh a little information to those who have donated some money to my account for the children here. A girl who goes with her class for a few days on a trip was looking for sponsors and I helped her with some other volunteers.
And a girl I have a T-shirt purchased, since the heat here ever had to walk around in a sweater, because it had none.
these are just little things, but distributed over the year I would like to support such funding and more at the end of my stay, then take some more in attack, which the GGA project will really help.

Greetings

Difference Between Magnums And Regulars

The first week is over ...

Hello dear Germany :-)

It's been so much happening here that I must report from my adventures.
said on Sunday it that takes place on the GGA site of worship and should we make chic. At 10 we went the direction of theater building and then you could hear the singing of some 250 South Africans-pure goosebumps.
We sat down and expected to be a "normal" service, which includes many prayers and a few songs over and after 1-2 hours. In fact the South Africans were but a Hour in their seats and sang songs in Zulu, and some men entered the stage and began to preach. While it was translated into English by a young girl, however much we really could not understand by the loud cries of some babies and general unrest. Each wore a white headscarf and we got those tied.
The "pastor" referring to us then well into his sermon by saying that he loved us and happy that we participate in this service and in general that we are doing the volunteering. After 2 hours, there was a half-hour break, so the children could eat. Thereafter, various choirs were from the Valleys to the Stage, then sang African dance and pure goosebumps again!
For me the highlight of that twice, "dragged" by older Zulu women were on stage and then we danced and sang with them (we sing no idea what we actually) was. After our "appearance" we have been embraced by many women and even kissing, because they are so happy that we are so open to their culture and have been through.
was beautiful to see how the GGA children sang and danced.
To about 16 clock (after 6 hours) was still a collection for GGA collected and leave the hall with song.
Although I could understand nothing of the songs but it was totally nice to sit between the Africans and to be integrated. It is also incomprehensible to me, how can sing just as beautiful and every South African dance.
may Overall, the German church service I think of this cut off a slice here, since everything is much more outgoing and cheerful walked. During the service we have been able to talk to several women who have danced in our seats and singing but it was then held and a sermon, where many people started to cry (in that we understand anything, we do not know why).
This experience would I never miss and the next time back in the action (this type of service will be held once a month).
On Monday, we have taken children with them and learned something of what takes place here, unfortunately not as simple as many children do not seem to understand that we do it for them and it's good for them. In the afternoon, she would Fentha (which is the sister of the founder) all children and volunteers in the dining room. There, the children were then yelled at because they have forgotten to pick up the trash in the evening. But they then had to clean all the chairs, clean their rooms thoroughly and the ironed school uniforms and clean all the shoes, because the next day, finally, the teachers' strike over. In our volunteers, it is as the "dragon" is known, because they only briefly from her office appears to screaming and then withdraw. They also told us on the first day that we should just be strict with the children, and we will send it to her when they do not even listen. There they are then beaten by her ...
came the evening of two new volunteers.
Tuesday morning, she would Fentha to the meeting and we were finally divided, what we teach children in what subject and who are we to do homework every day.
I do now with David Grade 6 or 12 year old girls and boys, from around half to make 4 homework. It took about half an hour, gather up all 5 kids, because they were not very enthusiastic to do after school or something for it.
I have strayed a girl who likes what we once offended and nothing fancy, but it can not even count in Math 12 +9 or knows how long 40 mm.
Although I try to explain to her all the time that I do it just for her and this is for their future but apparently you could not care less. Move to this point we are volunteers and very disappointed because we expected that African children are glad to be able to school and watching the children had GGA but take chances.
One of my responsibilities now that Crechies bring (the children of the preschool) clock at 13:30 for the noon hour to bed, to bathe 17:00 clock and go to bed at 19:00 clock. These tasks I share me with another volunteer, as we had every 2nd Weekend free, and no one else would be responsible for them. I get along well with the No right, only to bicker 2 children every night and one (I think) 3-year-old girl is currently a little moody. Next I try to see photos of the kids in, so you can all see how cute they look :-)
On Wednesday it smelled of smoke and eventually very Then we learned that burning the fields which border directly to the GGA site. Since there but 13 clock, and thus Lunch Time was, you went first would rather eat something rather than throw further. Currently is a group of British scouts who emphasize houses etc. for a week and called it then "The chicken is burning". As the fire was now something on the site and the chickens run free here, it had probably caught one.
Now we wanted to take matters in hand: each grabbed a leaf from the banana tree and on it went on fire. Through several blows with our "eraser" and some water then smoked it were just a little, flames seen but not more :-) The
again was proof to me that South Africans are very patient.
Incidentally, I have seen my first exotic animal in the environment, on the way to the savings we saw a monkey near the pick-up run away.
case you are probably just autumnal temperatures, however, I already had my first sunburn (although it is winter here). Because it is very conservative and Christian, we women are prohibited to show the thigh. Must under every rock so a warm leggings are worn: /
Now here begins the rainy season, so I'm going on my first off-weekend (that in my free weekend) in the Mall in Pietermaritzburg buy first rubber boots.

So much for my last days here (I am the way, today, exactly a week in South Africa). Tomorrow is my birthday that I would really much rather be with my family and friends. But, fortunately, also many nice people, that is certainly something celebrated :-)

soon,

Sina

Wedding Favours Tree House

First report from SA

Hey Guys =)
It is Saturday 17:08 clock now and I am the first time come to the Internet. I had in fact only such a pre-paid card accordingly, and purchase assets and borrow from other nerve volunteer Internet Stick ... Flat rates, there are unfortunately not, so I do not come online very often, since it is simply too expensive.
So now the report from my first 3 days in South Africa:

on time at 15:25 and I flew Rike after a tearful farewell to Hamburg los 6 hours later and reached Dubai. Even in the airport, I just could only marvel Everything sparkled and shone, everything was silver or gold, huge waterfalls inside the airport, and many furious people we eyed up and down critically. When we finally made it outside to reach the airport, we received the Hans (a friend of Riker) and suggested a small city tour of Dubai because we just could not say no.
So we drove about 2 hours so next to the biggest tower in the world, many casinos and hotels along. In conclusion, I can say that Dubai is really beautiful and impressive, but to me all very capitalist and "cold" appeared.
started after 5 hours of stay in Dubai our plane to Johannesburg. There are people came before more friendly and sociable. We quickly paid our excess baggage and then went to the terminal where an aircraft with 29 seats and all the comic Propellers on the sides waiting for us to bring us to Pietermaritzburg.
sat after the first few meters Rike and I only hands haltent there and hoped that somehow we will survive this flight and it was super loud and each air hole was a huge shock. Fortunately for us, then we could fly even a little longer with the plane, because we do not end up in PMB because of the dense clouds could. Due to the volume we could only understand a fraction of the announcement, so we were slightly panicked and 3 women feel responsible to tell us from then on everything and we make clear, as there is no problem because a bus waiting for us in Durban to us to bring them to PMB.
We already noticed how friendly are the South Africans arrived in Durban :-)
unfortunately we had to wait over an hour on our bus because he probably still had a coffee, Welcome in Africa ;-)
After a one-hour bus ride and a delay of 2 ½ hours we arrived at the airport at Pietermaritzburg before but found no one who wanted to pick us up.
A married couple was super helpful and called several friends if they knew how to do it to GGA, so they can take us. Unfortunately, the project is not so common, so we finally went to the police and a nice police officer told the man his way. Since it is very dangerous, but to drive in the dark after GGA, they took a police car in front of us, and we finally reached the site of PGI.
we were receiving only a few volunteers, and to this day I know the boss is not what I'm really sad, as I look at a "Thank You" for the voluntary work had really hoped for.
It already has 11 volunteers are here, and by the end of September it will probably be 26, and I'm really glad that I get along with all great.
I share the moment with only the Rike a room, however, be another 2-3 girls during the month to come. The rooms are super simple: beds, a small Desk and a wardrobe without doors decorate our room ^ ^. We will decorate the course of the year but still something.
went after the first night there by 10 clock to save in order to buy food, etc.. The information that we receive from GGA accommodation and food, namely out of date. We get paid only water and electricity and we can take some of the evening dinner of the children.
Later we were again in a smaller economy, where we wanted to buy our prepaid cards for Internet and mobile phone. The ride was really exciting to go there: We are in a jeep and sat on the bed with some Gogos (these are the South African employees, permanently in the children live) and even some dark skinned women just running around on the street. We fell a few times because of the bumpy road to but in the end it was very funny.
Friday night I finally got to know the first children and then brought the little ones to bed.
Then we played (ie, all volunteers) still somewhat taboo in English and then we went to bed.
Today I had early shift on the playground, so I played 8:30 to 14:00 with some children on the trampoline, which coincide very soon, and other items.
strike the moment the teachers here, so the children get bored pretty well. If they Monday still can not go to school, we must give them homework and learn something with them, I'm curious.
Well now you know what I have already done so everything and want to know determines how could I have not liked.
So on the first night I was suffering under a lot of the culture shock because I did not unreliable and very simple equipment from Germany'm used to.
But now I am here already settled a little and I am sure that we will soon get a job areas that we do every day and in that way in the structure altTag.
The little kids are very open-minded but sometimes really naughty. The young people are against rather closed and I have other than "Hi, how are you and what's your name?" not much you can talk to them.
I am currently still rather nibble on the Zulunamen of the children. I know now maybe 10 names of the 50 children living here sigh.

So much for first impressions here, I will report the next day on.
